The Bitgert blockchain network was launched in February 2022 and comes with a near-zero gas fee. It utilizes proof-of-authority (PoA) as its consensus mechanism, BriseChain has a block time of 15 seconds. Validators of the network are located across the globe which eliminates monopoly by any geographical user base. With its consensus mechanism, the network was able to achieve a 100,000 TPS hence it boasts itself as one of the fastest blockchain networks. Its TPS is a far cry from Ethereum’s current 12 to 15 TPS. This makes BriseChain very ideal for developers in building NFTs, DeFi, and Metaverse projects.

Despite Ethereum being the most preferred network among developers and investors, the rise of “ETH killers” now threatens its existence. Solana, one of Ethereum’s strongest competitors has a 65,000 TPS which is similar to that of the Visa network. But its lightning speed still falls short compared to the BriseChain network. With concerns about crypto mining that has caused an uproar among environmental experts, the blockchain has presented itself as an ideal alternative for networks that utilize proof-of-work or mining like Ethereum as their consensus algorithm. Crypto mining has been highly criticized because of its hazardous effect on the environment due to its carbon emission and voracious energy consumption.

With its very cheap gas fee of only  $0.00000001, BriseChain can also attract users who have been looking for options amid the high gas fees plaguing the entire crypto industry. The issue of bloating gas fees is no longer limited to the Ethereum network but also to “ETH killers” like Solana and Avalanche according to reports.

Ethereum has been struggling when it comes to scalability but given BriseChain’s lightning speed, it is undoubtedly the most scalable blockchain network today. In terms of interoperability, the network has built a bridge for the Bitgert BRC20 chain that allows other chains to communicate with it. Crypto experts even claim that the Bitgert blockchain is possibly more interoperable than Solana and other competitors. This will work to BriseChain’s advantage of better adoption among other blockchain networks. Given its seeming advantages over Ethereum, will Bitgert soon snatch the reigning blockchain’s spot?

Despite BriseChain’s rising popularity, some have cast doubts about its existence. Its consensus mechanism although guarantees super-fast transactions is under question for being highly centralized which is opposed to the entire industry’s objective of being decentralized. This was further explained in a published blog by Binance Academy.

“One could say that this model of consensus algorithm is just an effort to make centralised systems more efficient. While this makes PoA an attractive solution for large corporations with logistical needs, it does bring some hesitation – especially within the cryptocurrency scope.”

That alone makes it inferior to Ethereum being a fully decentralized network. There were also allegations that the developer of the BriseChain was not actually Bitgert but rather a third party. Bitgert’s former logo was allegedly associated with Vindax, a company that sells prepackaged blockchain systems. There were also issues concerning the legitimacy of the team behind the BriseChain. Compared to Ethereum, there is definitely no question about its developers or its early founders

But these concerns about BriseChain could be understandable being a new player. For crypto projects to prove their worth in the space, they needed to grow and bear fruits for users to taste. The blockchain even this early is already a threat among other networks. But whether it will survive the test of time will largely depend on the advantages it can offer to users and developers alike. With ETH 2.0 about to launch, the race will become tougher for any network that aims for Ethereum’s spot.
